THANK YOU JULES FOR THIS WONDERFUL OFFER TO THE ALLERGYEATS COMMUNITY!

About Jules Shepard:  Never one to compromise, celiac patient-expert Jules Shepard was tired of the bland-tasting, gritty compromises too many celiacs suffer with.  So she set out to develop a truly all-purpose gluten-free flour she could easily use in her existing recipes.  The result is her patent-pending formulation that took this experienced baker more than two years to perfect.

In addition to heading product and recipe development at Jules Gluten Free, Jules travels the country speaking to thousands of people annually, teaching cooking classes and educating and inspiring people about her no-compromise approach to living gluten-free.  She also has written two books.  “Nearly Normal Cooking for Gluten-Free Eating” continues to be a best-seller in the gluten-free community.  She is currently working on a third book.

P.S. After you’re done ordering this terrific free e-book, please return to AllergyEats and rate any restaurants you’ve dined at recently.  By continuing to build this powerful database, we all help our own community… and attract offers like Jules’ that further benefit us as well!

While this is a great offer, I was disappointed when I checked out the website and noted that none of her items have ingredients listed.I thought this is the very thing you are trying to prevent!

Fair enough comment, though I respectfully disagree.
Jules’ site is specifically gluten-free and doesn’t claim to be safe for other food allergies or intolerances. She is filling a niche and sticking to that. She’s not a major foodservice provider.
In addition, the offer I am promoting is for a free e-book, where the ingredients are obviously all listed, so there can’t be an issue with that.
So while I respect your potential disagreement, I feel very comfortable promoting this fantastic offer of Jules’ free gluten-free Thanksgiving e-book.

For anyone that does not have to live with eating or caring for someone that needs to eat gluten free, gluten free means that you can not eat the protein found in wheat, rye, barley or contaminated oats. While gluten free does not contain any of those items, it potentially can contain a myriad of other flours (she states that she has 5 different flours in her products) in order to mimic the effects of gluten in baking, any of which can be problematic for people. As we all are, I am out of necessity an avid food label reader due to many allergies and intolerances. For all of us, gluten free or not, food labels and the availability of them, are imperative in maintaining a safe food experience. I am sure that most of us dealing with food allergies and intolerances do not make a decision to consume an item without having any information with regards to the inclusion or exclusion of potentially offending allergens.

With regards to baking gluten free, it is not as easy when wheat flour is eliminated; there are many combinations of flours available and they can have very different outcomes. No matter the gluten free recipe, it is necessary to know the flour combination in order to be successful.I, for one, would not be able to access the offer because I am unable to decipher the required flour combinations and could then not be able to create my own flour mix with the potentially needed substitutions.

I am not clear as to your distinction regarding the fact that she is not a major foodservice provider. In my mind, she is still a commercial food provider and needs to provide this information ( maybe not legally but ethically).

I do appreciate and value your website and your commitment to the food allergy and intolerance community! Thank you for the continued diligent work and effort to support and promote this necessary cause.

Sounds great except there is no “offer code below the advertisement on the right side”. I tried to log in, to see if this ad and offer code is behind the log in and now I’m getting an error code. Another friend of mine is having the same problem. Unfortunately, great offer however not as easy as “That’s it!”.

Maria, the offer code is in the small print below the ad. I apologize if there’s a problem with it displaying for you. In any case, if you can’t see it, it’s Thanks10AE. If you then click on the ad, it should bring you to the page on Jules’ site where you can add the book to your cart.

If you’re still having trouble, please hit Contact Me and let me know what operating system you’re using and any error code you’re having. I’m surprised because others haven’t seen it. That said, this is our 3rd real “ad” (a picture that links to another site), so I can see there being a potential glitch in what we’re doing.

My apologies. I hope you will try it one more time. If you end up hitting Contact Me, I’ll include a link to the exact page on Jules’ site to make everything easier for you.

Thanks to Maria for reminding me that not everyone is looking at AllergyEats on a wide screen desktop. Those on a 13″ or so laptop may have to scroll right to see the ad for the free e-book. (While there, click on Tell A Friend and let others know about us!)

Duly noted. My thought, and I could be wrong, was that having the ingredients in the cookbook would be enough to see if the recipes were safe or not. As to buying her other products, I would then definitely suggest contacting Jules via her site.

Thanks for the kind words about AllergyEats. We’re listening to all of you and trying to achieve “continuous improvement.”

I’m just checking in and wanted to assure Food Challenged Foodie that all the information you seek is already on my website! I too, religiously read food labels (not only do I have celiac disease, but I am lactose intolerant and consider myself generally nutrition-conscious!), so I wanted to be sure all that information and more can easily be found on my site. The homepage: http://www.julesglutenfree.com/ has the flour ingredients listed (depending on your screen, you may have to scroll down just a bit to see them) and if you go to the product page, you can see not only the nutritional labels for each product, but also the back label telling you more about the kinds of recipes you can use the product for, etc.
My third book was just released this month – “Free for All Cooking: 150 Easy, Gluten-Free, Allergy-Friendly Recipes the Whole Family Can Enjoy” – and it seems like it’d be right up your alley. Not only are all kinds of food restrictions addressed, but food substitutions for successful baking as well. In all three of my books, I also provide homemade gluten-free flour mixtures; the ones in my newest book should accommodate most any food restriction.
I am offering my Thanksgiving ebook for free to AllergyEats readers in hopes that my recipes and tips can help as many folks as possible to enjoy a happy and tasty Thanksgiving this year, celebrating all the wonderful foods and ingredients we still can enjoy. I hope you can enjoy at least some of these recipes with your family as well!

I can’t seem to link to the the cookbook to get the offer. I get a error on page message. I’m using IE8 on Windows ME.

I tried to go directly to Jules page and use the offer code you listed in the above post to see if I could cheat my way through, but with no sucess. Help!

Kate, I can’t seem to replicate this error. The link is working fine for me. I also don’t understand why Jules’ page would have an issue. You do have to go through the checkout process first where it looks like you’re about to pay $12.95 – then there’s a place for the code. I’m not sure how to help. If the error is on my site, that’s easily overcome by doing what you did – going directly to Jules’ site. If the error is there, I’m afraid I have to refer you to her. My apologies.
